Work and Trips What is the purpose of this trip to the UK? “This is the third time Sri Panwa has joined the Luxury Travel Fair. This time, the purpose is always the same which is to seek business opportunities, introduce our project, contact agencies, and meet the media and potential people who can help us promote Sri Panwa Project.” What about other overseas trip? “Usually, I travel abroad 11 times a year. For Asia, I just went to Singapore, Hong Kong, China and Australia. I also went to the UK, Italy, Germany and Switzerland last summer.” What make a difference? There are two fairs held during November 8-9, 2008 namely “The Luxury Travel Fair” in Olympia and “World Travel Market” in Excel. Why did you choose to join “The Luxury Travel Fair?” “Both fairs have the same objective, which is to promote Thailand tourism. But I chose this fair because I have specific target customers and different sale strategy from WTM. WTM is a world-class fair where big chained hotels all over the world gather. However, Sri Panwa is a new project with 70 villas. So it’s not time for us to join WTM yet.” Target customers We heard that this is the second time you have traveled to Europe and the UK. “For Europe, British people are the biggest customers. Fortunately, I can fluently communicate in English and am familiar with the British culture as I grew up and studied here.” Are there any other target customers in Europe? “There are also Italian, Swedish, German and French customers.” What about Asian market? “Of course, Thai customers are the biggest ones followed by Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and China.” Pride of Thai hotel How have your presentations at the Luxury Travel Fair been? “Sri Panwa is the only Thai hotel with Thai owner joining the fair. Although we’re newcomer, we’re proud of being the number one Thai brand with the same standard as world-class hotels. I’m also proud of Thai identity as Thai people are very good at hospitality. We can see that many foreign companies have headquarters in Thailand as Thailand is full of staff and resources.” Economic slowdown “We’re not affected because we had planned well before starting Sri Panwa Project. We follow the Sufficiency Economy which is to walk step by step, not jump.” What is behind Khun Pla Wan’s success? There must be some readers who wish to be successful like Khun Pla Wan. “We must do what we love and enjoy. Also, we have to learn and understand market situation, be patient and optimistic, and can get along well with others. Integrity and modesty are the most important qualifications.
